Manville, NJ – Melissa Ann “Missy” Eckert, 30, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Somerville, Missy has been a lifelong resident of the borough and was a 2000 graduate of Manville High School.
Missy last worked as an LPN for Montgomery Nephrology and Hypertension Associates in Hillsborough and she enjoyed traveling, especially trips to the beach with her family and friends. Missy was an avid animal lover and most recently, she was proud to finally become the owner of her 2001 VW Cabriolet convertible.
She is predeceased by her father John Eckert who died in 2001, maternal grandfather Al Lazowski, paternal grandparents Doris and John Eckert, ciocie Debbie Eckert and uncle Bob Newcombe.
Missy is survived by her loving mother Linda (Lazowski) Eckert and two dear brothers; Ryan and Marc Eckert all of Manville. She also leaves behind her maternal grandmother Anne Lazowski of Scranton, PA, her ciocie’s and uncles Nancy Newcombe of South Bound Brook, Marlene and Dale Hoffman of Shamokin, PA, Phil and Liz Lazowski of East Stroudsburg, PA, Annemarie and John Latsko of Manville, Billy Eckert of Pennsylvania, Uncle Jay Eckert of Hawaii and Scott and Kathi Eckert of California.
Missy will be missed by several cousins, many dear friends and by her best friend, her dog Doogan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 beginning 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. office of christian burial at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church on Brooks Boulevard in Hillsborough.
Missy will be laid to rest at Bound Brook Cemetery located in Bound Brook.
