Manville, NJ – Albert “Al” B. Faleski, 79, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Shenandoah, PA to his late parents Adam and Mary Faleski, he settled in Manville fifty years ago.
During his youth, Al had a passion for playing baseball, basketball and football. His excellence in baseball was recognized when he became a member of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Al was honorably discharged as a Sergeant with the United States Army after faithfully serving his country while stationed in Germany for six years.
Al retired as a supervisor for the A building from John’s Manville Corporation in Manville after over twenty-five years of employment and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Prior to settling in Manville, he had been a member of the Shenandoah Police Department. Al was a communicant of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough, and was an avid bingo player who faithfully attended his church’s Bingo every Wednesday and Saturday. Additional memberships included Thomas J. Kavanaugh Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #2290 in Manville, the American Legion Post #12 in Somerville and the Moose Lodge #988 in Bound Brook, of which, he was a past governor. In his spare time, he also enjoyed playing championship darts.
Al was predeceased by his wife Alice E. (Skasko) Faleski on April 18, 1992.
Surviving are his beloved wife of fifteen years Emma Galambos and her daughter Pat Dinunzi, his loving & devoted son and daughter-in-law Albert A. and Dawn Faleski of Manville and his three cherished grandchildren Brittani, A.J., and Connor Faleski each of whom were very special to him.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 beginning 9:45am at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 followed by a 10:30am funeral liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough. Al will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Saturday from 9:15am until service time. The Parastas service will be on Friday at 3:00pm.
