Manville, NJ- Alex M. Pronovich, 85, entered eternal life on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Avoca, PA, son of the late Norman and Anna (Bronco) Pronovich, he resided in the Pittston, PA area prior to settling to Manville in 1952.
Alex faithfully served his country in the United States Army and United States Navy during World War II. After many years of dedicated employment at Johns Manville as a quality control worker, he worked for the Belle Mead Depot/Trenton Courthouse and his last place of employment was at ADESA in Manville. He was a communicant of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Alex was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2290 in Manville, Manville-Hillsborough Elks #2119 in Hillsborough, the M.Y.A.L., Quarterback Club of Manville, and the JM Quarter Century Club. Alex was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret (Hrab) Pronovich on December 17, 1997; a sister, Marie (Pronovich) Bissett and a brother, David Pronovich.
Alex is survived by three loving children, Marguerite Carovillano of Manville, Michael A. Pronovich of Chestnut Hill Twp., PA, and Alex Mark Pronovich; and a dear sister, Katherine (Pronovich) Cory of Canyon Country, CA. He will be deeply missed by five cherished grandchildren, three adored great grandchildren with the newest addition to arrive in April 2014; and his adored Jack Russell, "Diesel."
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday, December 29 from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday, December 30 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. with the funeral service between those hours at the funeral home. The interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
