Obituary

Manville NJ – Anna Theresa (Figel) Nawracaj passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2012.
Born in Bound Brook, NJ on October 1, 1918 to the late John and Sophie Figel, Anna was a lifelong resident of Manville.

On October 24, 1942, Anna married the late Edward Nawracaj and had four children. She retired in 1981 after many years of working at Johns Manville Corporation cafeteria.

Anna was a devout Catholic and faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville. She belonged to their Altar Rosary Society where she was Secretary and Promoter.

She was also Treasurer of the Sacred Heart PTA and a member of the Children of Mary and the Apostleship of Prayer. Anna was very active with many church functions, including the summer festivals and making pierogi.

She was a member of the JM Quarter Century Club and the Manville Senior Citizens Club.

Anna's joy in life was spending time with her loving family. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, trying new recipes, canning, knitting, crocheting and sewing.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ed in 1988 and by sisters Helen Blahut, Rose Clarkson, Frances Krasnansky and brothers William, Frank (Butch), and Alexander Figel.

Anna leaves behind her loving children, Edward Nawracaj of Glen Gardner, NJ, Sister Carol Ann of Stamford, Connecticut, Daniel Peters of Manville, NJ and Theresa Macor and her husband Peter of Flemington, NJ, adored granddaughter Kathleen Moncelsi and her husband Randy and cherished great-grandchildren Kristina and Michael Moncelsi of Dunellen, NJ. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends and dedicated caregiver Maria Chlivnaja.

There was never a time that Anna didn't have a smile for everyone. She truly lived a life that was filled with the love of the Lord and followed in His example. She left all with wonderful memories that will be cherished forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Anna will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ or Villa Maria Education Center in Stamford, Connecticut.
