Obituary

Manville, NJ – Antonia "Antonietta" (Zona) Petrone, 91, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Calvi Risorta (Caserta), Italy, the youngest of eight children and daughter of the late Bartolomeo and Giuseppina (Annantuono) Zona, she settled to the United States in 1956.

Antonia worked for many years as a seamstress with Giddings, Inc. in Raritan, NJ, and Blessings, Inc. in Middlesex, NJ, retiring in 1986. Antonia enjoyed spending time with family, especially cooking for them. She was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville and was a devout of Padre Pio of Pietrelcina (Benevento), Italy, and St. Anthony of Padova.

Besides her parents, Antonia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eduardo Petrone in 1975; son, Henry Petrone on February 21, 2014; brothers, Francesco Zona, Amedeo Zona, Armando Zona, and Alberto Zona; and sisters, Giulietta Salvato, Anna Fattore, and Teresa Gargiulo.

Antonia is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Anna and her husband Franco Buongiovanni of Manville; and a dear daughter-in-law, Maria Petrone of Hillsborough, NJ. She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren, David Buongiovanni and his wife Tanya, Mark Buongiovanni, Edward Petrone and his wife Dana, and Kristen Petrone; adored great grandchildren, Alexis Buongiovanni and Harper Petrone and many dear nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday, January 17 from 1-5 p.m. and on Monday, January 18 from 8-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 18, beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville. Committal words and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
