Hillsborough, NJ - Barbara Jane (Palahach) Bukovecky, 77, entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 7, 2013 with her loving family by her side at Somerset Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Bound Brook. Born in Manville, daughter of the late John and Kathryn (Melnyk) Palahach, she was a resident of Manville before moving to Hillsborough in 1954.


Barbara worked alongside her husband Victor Sr. as a bookkeeper at the family store, Bucky's Men Shop & Dry Cleaning in Manville. Prior to that, she worked at her parents' business, Palahach Furniture, of Manville. Barbara was treasurer for both the Manville Business and Professional Association and the Manville Fire Company #2 Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara was an active and longtime member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough. She was active volunteer and member in their leisure club and bingo committee. Barbara and her husband were inseparable and could always be found enjoying movies, plays, and trips together, both domestic and internationally. She had a love for gardening, cooking, and reading and was a member of the Hillsborough Seniors, Chapter B.

Barbara is predeceased by her son James Michael, who died in 1963.


She leaves behind her loving husband and best friend of fifty-eight years, Victor Bukovecky Sr., whom she joined hands with in marriage on November 7, 1954 and, by their cherished children; Victor, Jr. of Manville, John, and his longtime girlfriend Ann Marie O'Connor of Hillsborough, Jane Duke of Ringoes, Jeffrey of Port Deposit, MD and Laura Daw and her husband John "Jack" of Annandale. She will be deeply missed by her four adored grandchildren, Aubrey and Jarrett Duke, and Katelyn and James Daw, and by many extended family members and friends.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville NJ 08835, on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday,
April 12, 2013 from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.


Funeral services will begin on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 9:15 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, in Hillsborough. Barbara will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
