Manville, NJ – Cecilia R. (nee Koziel) Solarek, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 13, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Hazelton, PA, daughter of the late Michael and Julia (nee Stefanik) Koziel, she settled in Manville in 1960 and spent the rest of her life there.
Cecilia was a homemaker and truly the matriarch of her family. She worked the night shift at RCA while raising seven young children. She was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville where she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society. She also had a passion for crocheting, reading, baking and trips to New York City. She loved her dog Coco and cats Eddie & Kibbles.
Beside her parents, Cecilia was predeceased by her husband, Edmund T. Solarek, Sr. in 1994. She is survived by seven loving children, Elaine, Edmund, Jr. and his wife Joan, Gerry and his wife Diane, Sharon and her husband Rick, Jeanine, Ann Marie, Chris and his wife Ellen. She will be deeply missed by ten cherished grandchildren: Juliane, David, Robbie, Amy, Danielle, Michael, Rachel, Jacob, Tara and Alyssa and four precious great grandchildren: Dylan, Ashton, Calla and David. Cecilia will also be missed by her brother Richard and his wife Jennie, her sister Gertrude, and her many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Tuesday, October 16 from 3-7 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 17 from 8-8:30 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 17 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville. Committal words and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cecilia's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
