Manville, NJ- Clara V. (Cackowski) Nugent, 85, entered eternal life on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Somerset Valley Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Bridgewater Township. Born in Plymouth, PA, daughter of the late Barney and Mary (Zagorski) Cackowski, she resided in Nanticoke, PA before settling to Manville in 1964.

Clara had been a customer service representative with Ciba-Gigy in Somerset and was also a seamstress. As devout parishioner of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville, Clara was very active and dedicated to her church and also a member of the Altar Rosary Society where she had served as an officer. Clara enjoyed time spent with her canine buddy "Prince".



Besides her parents, Clara was predeceased by her beloved husband Owen S. Nugent on August 15, 2007; her daughter Mary Gregory on June 28, 1979 and by three brothers and two sisters.

Clara is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Patricia and George Hnidj of Manville and her loving son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Shirley Nugent of Hillsborough; dear sisters, Valeria Cackowski and Margaret Pogoda. She will be deeply missed by seven cherished grandchildren: Dan Kurdyla, Melissa Sampson and husband Bill, Daniel, Shawn and Brandon Nugent and Kellie and Leighann.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday, January 2nd from 5-8 p.m. and on Monday, January 3rd from 8-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be begin on Monday, January 3rd at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Clara will be laid to rest beside her husband at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough. Memorial contributions may be made in Clara's memory to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
