Marriage Status:  Loving wife of beloved Edward F. Sherwin (pre deceased in 1990).

Our beloved mother, Connie Sherwin, has passed away at the age of 91.

Amid the pre-dawn celebration of Independence Day, our mom completed her earthly life to rejoin her late husband, Eddie, and her pre deceased family members.

Future celebrations of July 4 ^th will now, unknowingly, celebrate the life of an incredible matriarch!

We lovingly share with you some of her life story.

Born in 1926 to Mildred and Angelo Franzoso, she was a middle child of eight children.  Nestled in age between her pre-deceased older sisters, Antoinette, Katherine and a younger sister, Carmela; and pre deceased brother, Thomas.  Surviving are a brother Michael (Sonny), youngest sister, Shirley and a younger brother Robert (Bob).

Connie was a life long resident of Manville.  She graduated from Bound Brook High School and was initially employed by the Singer Corp.  Taking several years off to bring up her family, she joined Ethicon Corp. and became a needle inspector.

Attired in her perfectly pressed, starched white nurse's uniform and cap she was always well coiffed.  With her jet black hair she made for a stunning figure in uniform.

Connie's outgoing personable demeanor drew many friends and acquaintances her entire lifetime.  She could easily strike up a conversation with any one any where and she often did while riding an elevator or with strangers in a grocery store.

Around the area in which she lived, her "whiter than white" laundry was often noticed and commented upon by neighbors or passersby.  She ironed everything and was an exceptional housekeeper.   She was the hardest worker and known for her industriousness about using "elbow  grease" to keep "all things clean and shiny"!  Her family chided her about "dusting the dust"!  Her two daughters remarked that they had the cleanest and most starched phys ed uniforms that were also ironed and included a crease down the front and back of the legs!!!

She had a keen mind, a memory for details and the kitchen talent to rival any Five Star Italian chef.  A pot of sauce was always on the stove every Sunday.  It's aroma welcomed you into her home along with her most amazing and friendly personality.

Generous beyond most standards, she was always sharing her special dishes with family, neighbors and even with a stranger or two.  (We recall the meal given to the traveling encyclopedia salesman!).

Every new family member had to be fed and had to experience her special pasta sauce.  Copious amounts of pepperoni, brazziole, pork and meatballs made for a "speecy, spicy" Italian sauce and a gastronomical experience.  Ahh, but we must also include her signature macaroni and cheese that no one has been able to recreate the way in which she made it!

She loved the bus trips to AC and later, the trips made there with family.  She was lucky, too!

Especially appreciative of the help and assistance of family members for whatever and wherever she needed you—she never forgot each person's kindnesses and their particular talents.

There was somethin' special about this lady—our mom.  She inspired all who knew her and had the love and admiration, respect and loyalty of her devoted family 24/7.

To say we will miss her terribly hardly encompasses the depth of our love for her.  It gives us all peace knowing she is free of her ailments and once again with our Dad.

And, of course, we had to insure she was prepared for the world she may find herself inhabiting.  Therefore, we placed a new dust cloth in her hand to work her "clean and shine" magic wherever she may travel!

Connie was the beloved matriarch of her family.  She leaves behind three heartbroken children, their spouses, 6 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.  Sadly, she will not meet her newest "to be born in July" grandson, but we feel they have already met and our having their time in heaven while we await his birth.

Kellee Kroll Noval, husband Jereym Novak, Esq. (Port St. Joe, FL); grandpuppies Paxton and Stella).

Kevin Kroll, wife Michelle (Mt. Laurel, NJ); sons, Alex and Reese.

Karen's Child:

Danielle Dusky Benoit, husband, Aaron (Los Angeles, CA)

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday,  July 7 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, July 8 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Church) in Manville, followed by services at the St. Bernard Mausoleum in Bridgewater, NJ.  Memorial contributions may be made in Connie's name to the Manville Rescue Squad, 2 South 3 ^rd Avenue, Manville, NJ 08835 or visit manvillerescuesquad.org .
