Somerville-Daniel Nawracaj Peters, 68, entered into eternal life on July 27, 2020 at Foothill Acres Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Hillsborough.   Born in New Brunswick to the late Edward Joseph and Anna Theresa (nee Figel) Nawracaj, he spent most of his life in Manville.

Dan was a 1970 graduate of Manville High School and took several accredited courses in media production at Raritan Valley Community College.  His passion for photography and videography led him to launch Daniel Peters Productions, a multi-media development company which is still in operation.  Proficient using a wide range of audio and video equipment as well as computer systems and PC software, Dan produced numerous DVD's including "A Movie Lover's Guide to Film Language," "Professor Nightingale's Test-Taking Strategies for Student Nurses," "A Grandparent's Guide to VCR's," and "The Virtual Job Interview".  Dan was also the author of "Here's to Good Food – Cooking with Beer, Wine, Liquor and Liqueur."  He previously worked as a Staff Media Specialist for Raritan Valley Community College.  When the Somerset Patriots came to Bridgewater, Dan helped produce the team's promotional video and live broadcasts of their games.  Dan co-founded Coin Operated Bar and Restaurant Amusements, customizing video game software for various clubs.  He worked as a case manager with the United States Census Bureau during the last few census takings.  Dan also did private tutoring for students learning English as a Second Language and shared these skills with the Literacy Volunteers of America.

Dan received a Blue Ribbon Finalist Award in the annual video competition of the Community College Association for Instruction and Technology.  He also was awarded a Special Congressional Recognition for "outstanding and invaluable service to the community."

Dan's memberships included the American Pool Association, where as captain he led the Eight Ball Gypsies team to several playoff games, and the Jersey Adobe Multimedia Users Group.  He enjoyed playing baseball, golf, fishing and many outdoor sport adventures.  Dan was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Football Giants.  He was a self-taught musician of various instruments.

Dan was predeceased by his parents, sister-in-law Elizabeth Nawracaj, several aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and faithful Golden Retriever Max.

Dan is survived by three dear siblings Edward Nawracaj, Sister Carol Ann Nawracaj and Terri and her husband Peter Macor; cherished niece Kathy Moncelsi and her husband Randy and their children Kristina Moncelsi and Michael Moncelsi; several cousins; and extended family members.

Dan will be fondly remembered for his keen intellect, sense of humor, unique creativity and compassion for others.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home of Manville.  Services will be private.  Dan will be laid to rest with his parents at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
