Manville, NJ – Dolores Margaret (Rakauskas) DeFazio, 85, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Born and raised in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Vincent and Viola Rakauskas, Dolores moved to New Jersey in 1957.
Dolores (Babcia) took great pride in raising and caring for her family, especially her cherished grandchildren and adored great grandchildren. Dolores looked out for everyone. She always listened to those in need. She would never judge or turn anyone away. Dolores especially loved playing Barbie's, having "spa days", and spending "Sunday Funday" with her great granddaughter Isabella. She was a big fan of the Yankees and the Jets, especially Aaron Judge. She was also a devoted Catholic and was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Parish in Manville.
Besides her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent J. DeFazio who died on August 2, 1994; loving daughter, Linda Capoocia; brother, William Rakauskas; and grandsons, Vincent and Michael DeFazio.
Dolores is survived by two loving children, her son Louis DeFazio and his wife, Cindy Bryan of Manville, and daughter Karen Payeur of Manville. Two dear sons-in-law, Kenneth Payeur and Anthony Capoocia, three cherished grandchildren, Matthew Payeur and his wife Shannon Payeur. Ashley Capoocia, and Gina Capoocia,four adored great grandchildren, Michael, Max, and Madison Payeur, and the light of her life Isabella Lindvor.
The family would like to give a special thank you to John Granahan for always making sure her cup of brandy was full, and her belly was always filled with chocolate cake.
Relative and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday, September 17 from 1-4 p.m. Committal words and interment will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery at Cemetery Street and Pike Street, Archbald, PA 18403 on Monday, September 18, at 12:00 p.m. To send condolences to the family, share photographs, or light a virtual candle in memory of Dolores, please visit www.FucilloandWarrenFuneralHome.com.
