Union/Warren, NJ – Dorothy (Shurminsky) Macheska, 94, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Overlook Hospital in Summit NJ. Born and raised in Mayfield, PA, daughter of the late Andrew and Eva (Dzywonchyk) Shurminsky, she moved to Washington D.C. after high school before settling to Union.

Dorothy took great pride in caring for her family, especially her grandchildren whom she drove everywhere. Dorothy was a longtime member of St. Michaels Russian Orthodox church in Newark before joining Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Manville.

Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter in 2003 and brother Paul Shurminsky.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children; son Gary Macheska and his wife Elizabeth of Union and daughter Lisa Keller and her husband Robert of Warren. She will be deeply missed by her dear grandchildren: Caroline Sevier and husband Christian, Jennifer Macheska, Robert Keller and Andrew Keller, and cherished great granddaughter, Ella Marie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Thursday, October 20 from 4-8 p.m. with the Panikhida starting at 4:00 p.m., and on Friday, October 21 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21 beginning 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral service at Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Manville with Fr. James officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband Peter at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Ss.
