Hillsborough, NJ- Edward "Eddie" Sznitowski, 72, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed at home peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023.  Born in Gorzow Wklp, Poland, son of the late Edward and Irena (nee Niewiadomska) Sznitowski, he came to America in 1982 also lived in Kearny and called Hillsborough his home in 2020.

Eddie was a very outgoing and personable man, always engaging people whether he knew them or not.  In his youth, Eddie enjoyed boxing, soccer, water sports and loved to travel.  He served proudly in the Army in Poland as a sharpshooter.  He also was an EMT in Poland.  Eddie enjoyed his work as an Operating Engineer with Union Local 14-14B as a heavy equipment operator.

Besides his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his sister, Helena Kucharyszyn.

Eddie is survived by his devoted wife, Mary (nee Posluszny); two loving children, son, Adrian and his wife Elena Sznitowski and daughter, Iwona Sznitowski.  He will also be missed by his sister, Teresa and her husband Longin Braszkiewicz.   He will be deeply missed by two cherished grandchildren, Eulalia and Nellie as well as three loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 4-7 p.m.  and on Tuesday, August 8 from 8-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 8 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville.
