Raritan, NJ – Eileen M. (Jankowski) Gibbs, 80, entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at her home. Born and raised in Mount Vernon, NY, daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (O'Grady) Jankowski, she had lived in North Plainfield before settling to Raritan in 1980.
After seventeen years of employment at the Bridgewater-Raritan School District, Eileen retired in 2004 as a cafeteria worker. Prior to, she worked in the café at Somerset Medical Center. Eileen was a communicant of the Catholic Church of St. Ann's located in Raritan and was a member of the ladies auxiliary American Legion Post #12 in Somerville.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Kathleen Erickson, son-in-law Dennis Carovillano, Sr. and four siblings; Theodore, Robert and Patricia Jankowski and Dorothy Simpson.
Eileen leaves behind her devoted husband of sixty-four years, William H. Gibbs, Sr., whom joined hands in marriage on June 12, 1949, her loving children; Linda "Karen" Carovillano of Raritan, Michael Gibbs and his wife Georgette of Bridgewater, William "Bill" Gibbs, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Lincoln Park and Dawn Barry and her husband Wayne of Raritan. She will be deeply missed by her nineteen adored grandchildren, seventeen cherished great-grandchildren and her dear sister Dolores Ritter of Melbourne, FL.
Visitation will be held at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, June 28, 2013 beginning 9:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at the Church of St. Ann located in Raritan. Eileen will be laid to rest at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family would be greatly appreciated.
