Manville, NJ – Eleanor (Romanoskie) Burkhour, 91, entered into eternal life on Friday, September 30, 2016 at her home. Born at home in Shamokin, PA, daughter of the late Stanislaw and Broslawa (Waraska) Romanoskie, she settled in Manville in 1957.

Eleanor retired in 1983 after twenty-five plus years as a printer from Johns Manville, Inc., in Manville; she was a member of Johns Manville Quarter Century Club. She enjoyed many activities such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cooking delicious meals for her family. She also created many beautiful ceramic pieces. Eleanor volunteered as a therapy assistant for the disabled persons at the YMCA of Bridgewater, NJ. She was happiest when she was around her family members, especially her cherished grandchildren. Eleanor was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Parish (Christ the King Roman Catholic Church) in Manville.

Besides her parents and her eleven siblings, Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vaughn M. Burkhour, on April 6, 1991.

Eleanor is survived by four loving children, son, Charles Burkhour and his wife Diane of Somerset, NJ, son, Vaughn M. Burkhour, Jr., of Manville, daughter, Connie and her husband Mark Richman of Laurel, MD, and son, Martin Burkhour of Glendale, CA. She will be deeply missed by seven cherished grandchildren, Vaughn G. Burkhour and his wife Laura, Alisha Richman and her husband Adam Shelley, Jennifer and her husband Jason Jardine, Tanya and her husband Jessie Foltz, Sara and her husband Brandon Sanders, Meredith Richman and her husband Tom Romano, and Charles Burkhour and his wife Dinna; and four adored great granddaughters, Kitara Burkhour, Kirana Burkhour, Alexis Burkhour, and Keira Sanders; and many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Tuesday, October 4 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 5 from 8:00-8:30 am.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 5 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville. Committal words and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
