Manville, NJ- Eleanor (Bobrowski) Rakowitz, 87, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville surrounded by her loving family. Born in Manville, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Vorinko) Bobrowski, she was a lifelong resident of the borough.

Eleanor was a graduate of Bound Brook High School. She was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her family in Manville, enjoyed traveling, gardening and cooking, always sharing the fruits of her labor with others. She enjoyed time spent with her family and had touched the lives of so many people throughout the years. Eleanor was a faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church and member of the Altar Rosary Society; past president of VFW Post #2290 Ladies Auxilary having been very active at the post and Manville Senior Citizens Club.

Besides her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Rakowitz on August 28, 1986; loving son Joseph Rakowitz in 1958; three dear sisters and four brothers.



Eleanor leaves behind her three loving & devoted sons: Jim Rakowitz and wife Terry of Powder Springs, GA, Mike Rakowitz and partner Amy Young of Leicester, VT, Ray Rakowitz and wife Linda of Branchburg; dear sister Virgie Leoniy of Toms River; and Joyce Tanalski of Manville whom Eleanor considered the daughter she never had. Eleanor will be deeply missed by her eight cherished grandchildren: Jeanne, Dave, Dan, Jen, Autumn, Jeff, Michelle and Lisa; five precious great grandchildren and many adored nieces & nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, November 5th from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, November 6th from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will begin 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, November 6th followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville.
