Manville, NJ – Elizabeth K. (nee Buckery) "Betty" Hamershock, 88, entered into eternal life on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at her residence with loving family by her side.  Born and raised in McAdoo, PA, daughter of the late Ernest and Gizella (nee Kapish) Buckery, she settled to Manville in 1953 and spent her life there.

Betty was a devoted and loving homemaker and unselfishly cared for her family.  She was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville.  She loved playing pinochle, trips to the casino and "games of chance" in general.

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert with whom she joined hands in marriage on September 26, 1953; siblings, Ernest, Gizella "Sis", Joseph, Robert, Dorothy, and son in law, Frank Chupinka.

Elizabeth is survived by five loving children, Diane Hamershock of Manville, George Hamershock of Manville, Robert and JoAnne Hamershock of Brick, Donna and John Pankowski of Hampton, and Lori Chupinka of Byram. She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren; Christine and Thomas Stay of West Islip, NY, Robert Hamershock of Hoboken, Nicole and Shawn Pond of Byram, Michael Chupinka and Holly Cannon of Parsippany, and Julie Pankowski of Hampton.  Betty is also survived by her brother Carl Buckery of Youngstown OH; sister Eleanor Richerson of Las Vegas NV and sister in law Patricia Buckery of McAdoo, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday, July 28 from 4-7 p.m. and on Monday, July 29 from 7:45-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville.  Committal words and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
