Manville, NJ – Elizabeth "Betty" (Szakacs) Chernesky, 70, entered into eternal life on Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Arbor Glen Retirement Community in Bridgewater. Born in Manville, NJ, daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret (Tokach) Szakacs, she was a lifelong resident.

Betty was an administrative assistant for American (Delmanto) Labs in Somerville for 27 years. She was a social member of American Legion Post #304 in Manville and a member of Sacred Heart Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish), in Manville. Betty loved caring for others as well as her adored cats.

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Chernesky Sr., in 2006.

Betty leaves behind her devoted sons, Edward Chernesky and his wife Felicia of Flemington and Eric Chernesky of Manville. She will be deeply missed by her dear siblings, Sonny Szakacs, Frank Szakacs, and Joann Kruczek; four cherished grandchildren, Jessica, David, Jeffrey, and Tobias; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835, on Thursday, July 21, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

At the family's request, committal words and interment will be private.
