Obituary

Hillsborough, NJ- Elizabeth (Ryan) Jakelsky, 86, passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick on August 27, 2011 with family by her side. Elizabeth was born in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Theodore and Margaret (Walsh) Ryan. Upon the death of her parents, she moved to Bound Brook, NJ.



Elizabeth attended Catholic schools and graduated from Bishop England High School. She married Frank Jakelsky in August 1950 and they built a house in Manville. Together they had three daughters. Elizabeth was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a sweet and kind lady, who met each day with a smile and her joyous spirit and love of life was felt by all who knew her. Though she lived in New Jersey most of her life, she always retained the manner of a "southern belle". Elizabeth had worked at the Princeton University Bookstore for ten years. She was a member of VFW Post #2290 Ladies Auxiliary in Manville and Chapter B Hillsborough Seniors, with whom she loved to exercise. She enjoyed crossword puzzles.



Besides her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank "Jake" Jakelsky and a sister Cecilia DeAntonio.

Elizabeth leaves behind her three loving daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Rose and Karl Graebener, Jackie and Jack Gioglio and Colleen and Rich Komoroski. She will be deeply missed by her dear sister Marge Perone, seven adored grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, September 2 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, September 3 from 8-8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Elizabeth will be laid to rest beside her husband at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
