Manville, NJ- Emily Elizabeth (Schell) Amendtler, 96, entered into eternal life on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ. Born in Freeland, PA, daughter of the late Charles and Nettie (Rudolph) Schell, she was raised in Freeland before settling to Manville eighty years ago.
Emily retired after over twenty-five years of dedicated employment with Ethicon in Bridgewater, NJ as an assembly line worker. Emily was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville. A few of her pastimes include gardening, knitting, crocheting, and cooking of which her specialty was ravioli. She adored spending time with her children and precious grandchildren
Besides her parents, Emily was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph Amendtler in 1980; daughter Janice (Amendtler) Rizzo on January 26, 2015; and many siblings.
Emily is survived by a loving daughter, Geraldine (Amendtler) Greck; dear sister, Mildred Schade; three cherished grandchildren, Deborah and her husband Mike Friedman of Warminster, PA, Jacqueline and her husband Brian Izzo of South Hampton, PA, and Brian Weidlich and his wife Christine of Pittstown, NJ; two adored great grandsons, Joseph Friedman and his wife Crista and Thomas Friedman; adored great great grandson, Jackson Friedman; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home with clergy from Christ the Redeemer Parish officiating. Committal words and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
