Whitehouse Station (Readington Township) NJ - Ewhen Brenycz, 87, entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. Ewhen was born in Vorotsiv, Ukraine, to the late Mychailo and Stefania (Lucyshyn) Brenycz. Ewhen immigrated to America in 1951 and lived in Newark and Irvington before settling in 2005 to Whitehouse Station.

In addition to his parents, Ewhen was also predeceased by his siblings George, Olena, Jaroslaw, Stefan, Walter, Myron, nieces Mary and Dorothy and nephew Michael.

Ewhen is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Katherine (Staranczak). He will be deeply missed by his dear family, sons Eugene Luke and his spouse Karen Maria, Andrew Michael and his spouse Cathleen, his daughter Mary Teresa, and his dear sister, Maria Dawydiak. He cherished his grandchildren, Nadia Maria and Michael John Brenycz. Ewhen was honored to be Godfather to five, Christine Dawydiak, Michael Pisocki, Mark Brenycz, Zenia and Brandon Horobetz and loved his many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Ewhen was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough, a Knight of the 4 ^th degree with Knights of Columbus Council #6930 and a former parishioner of St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Newark. He was an avid soccer player and coach with the Ukrainian Sitch Sports Club. He enjoyed reading historical novels and biographies, working in his garden, and watching soccer. He loved praying the rosary and watching mass on EWTN with Stephanie.

Ewhen received his license to be a Blue Seal Refrigeration Engineer and worked at various companies through the years including ThermAir, All Star Dairies, Buitoni Foods, and finally Newark Beth Israel until he retired in 2007.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. with Parastas service at 6 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1700 Brooks Blvd., Hillsborough, NJ. Committal words and interment will follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery, 141 Sarah Wells Trail, Campbell Hall, NY 10916. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ewhen's name to aid Ukraine through either "The Ukrainian Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia", 810 North Franklin Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123 or to "St. John Charitable Fund", 719 Sanford Avenue, Newark, NJ 07106.
