Obituary

Hillsborough, NJ-Frances M. (Haraben) Gerechka, 78, entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 18, 2016. Born in Somerville, NJ, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Zawatsky) Haraben, she was raised in Bound Brook and later settled to Hillsborough.

Frances was a gifted, talented, devoted and dedicated teacher in the Manville School System for 37 years. She taught many subjects including special education. She was past president of the NJEA and a graduate of Hunter College. She loved gardening and training dogs and was a member of the Princeton Dog Training Club. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ.

Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her loving brother, Albert Haraben.

Frances is survived by her beloved husband Wesley A. Gerechka with whom she joined hands in marriage on June 25, 1960.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Thursday, June 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, June 24 from 9-10 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24 beginning 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Ed Cimbala of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
