Hillsborough, NJ- Francis "Frank" McCarthy, 78, entered eternal life on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset in Somerville, NJ.  Born in East Orange, NJ, son of the late Edward and Mildred (nee Tench) McCarthy, he moved to South Plainfield, NJ in 1967 and settled to Hillsborough in 1986.

Frank faithfully served his country as a PFC with the United States Army from 1960-1963.  He worked for over twenty-three years at Equipco in Branchburg, NJ as a heavy machine mechanic.  Frank was an avid collector of Lionel trains, Hess trucks, and coins.  He liked to travel to train conventions and also had a passion for the New York Jets and New York Mets.  He was a member of and trustee at the American Legion Post #304 in Manville, NJ, member of Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post #2290 in Manville, and an associate member of the Millstone Valley Fire Department in Somerset, NJ.

Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased his son, Shawn McCarthy; brother, Edward McCarthy; sister, Patricia McCarthy; and stepdaughter, Jamie Coleman.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-five years, Connie Lou (nee Bryan) McCarthy; three loving children, Karen McCarthy of South Plainfield, Michael McCarthy and his wife Mary of Allentown, NJ, and Brian McCarthy and his wife Corey of Hillsborough.  He will be deeply missed by ten cherished grandchildren and six adored great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, October 25 from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 26 from 9-10 a.m.
