Toms River, NJ – Frank Winterholder, 91, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Complete Care at Arbors in Toms River, NJ. Born in Somerset, NJ, son of the late Frank J. and Martha (nee Gertz) Winterhalder, he resided in Bridgewater, NJ; Lebanon Borough, NJ; and Canton, GA; before settling in Toms River 25 years ago.
Frank was a graduate of Bound Brook High School (Class of 1951). He honorably served his country with the United States Army National Guard for nine years as a tank driver with the 252nd Armor Regiment. Frank was a dedicated research and development technician with Union Carbide in Bridgewater for 39 years, of which his last nine years were with the company's Amoco Plastics division in Canton, GA. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, and sailing with his wife, Mary Ann, on vacations in Vermont and weekends at Lake Hopatcong. Frank loved fishing and spending time with his grandsons, Miles and Noah.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ann (nee Maychrich) Winterholder on April 22, 2024; and two sisters, Eleanor Bostrom and Clare Martin.
Frank is survived by his loving children, son, Frank J. Winterholder of Toms River and daughter, Brenda and her spouse, David Heffernan of Washington, D.C. Additionally, he will be deeply missed by two cherished grandsons, Miles Heffernan and Noah Heffernan; dear sister, Lottie Coffin; dear sisters-in-law, Joan Trainor and Debra Maychrich; and cherished nieces and nephews, Nancy Coffin, Beth DiSalvo, Robert Bostrom, Kenneth Bostrom, William Bostrom, and Bernard Gibeau.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, September 16, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Monday, September 16, at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Stanislaw Slaby, C.Ss.R. officiating. Committal words and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
