Obituary

Manville, NJ- Ferdinand Ralph "Fred" Genovese, 85, entered into eternal life on Monday, February 24, 2025 at home with loving family by his side. Born at home in Manville, son of the late Augustine and Mary (née Villano) Genovese, he was a lifelong resident of Manville with exception of the time he spent serving our country.

Fred was a graduate of Manville High School with the Class of 1958. He honorably served his country with the United States Air Force as a senior master sergeant from 1959 to 1979. While in the military he was stationed in England, Germany, Texas, Florida, Virginia, and in Vietnam. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War.  Fred enjoyed the outdoors where he found joy fishing and gardening. Although, his greatest joy was spending time with family especially his grandchildren. He was a faithful parishioner of Christ the Redeemer Parish in Manville.

Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann (née Bogden) Genovese, who died on March 16, 1979; brother, Augustine Genovese; sister, Mary Lou Genovese; and brother-in-law, John Adkins.

Fred is survived and will be dearly missed by two loving children, Gabrielle and her husband, Kimber Decker of Macungie, PA, and Daryl Genovese of Manville and Elizabeth Sanabria, his partner of many years; dear siblings, Dominick Genovese and his wife Laurie, Antoinette Adkins, Mary and her husband, Phillip McGrew, and Angela Genovese; three cherished grandchildren, Matthew Decker, Kendall Decker, and Claudia Decker; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Thursday, February 27, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with vigil prayers at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Parish, 98 South 2nd Avenue, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, February 28, at 9:00 a.m. Committal words and military honors will take place at Fairfax Memorial Park, 4401 Burke Station Road, Fairfax, VA 22032 on Saturday, March 1, at 1:00 p.m. To send condolences to the family, share photographs, or light a virtual candle in memory of Fred, please visit www.FucilloandWarrenFuneralHome.com.
