Obituary

Manville, NJ- George R. Fender, 77, entered into eternal life on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital- New Brunswick.  Born and raised in Manville, NJ, George was the son of George W. and Julia (nee Neimeth) Fender.
George was a lover of classic cars and could be seen driving his cars to shows around the area and enjoyed speaking with other car show enthusiasts. George also enjoyed learning as much as he could about military history.  He served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of VFW Post#2290, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #452 and the Vietnam Veterans support group in Holmdel, NJ.
Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his sister, Julia Fedorczyk, and brothers, Joseph Smolinka and John Smolinka.
George is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Darlene (nee Peters) Fender, and his cherished daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and David Chiarizzio of Hillsborough.  He will also be deeply missed by his brother, Julius Smolinka of Florida.
A viewing will take place on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ with Military Honors at 4:30 p.m. Disposition will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in George's name to a veteran group of your choice.  At the family's request, masks are optional but are appreciated.  (For the health and safety of George's family, please refrain from any physical contact).
