Obituary

A eulogy by George's son, George E. Snook III, will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday night during the viewing.

Manville, NJ- George E. Snook, Jr., 71, entered into eternal life on Monday, March 21, 2016 at his daughter's home with loving family at his side. Born in Somerville, NJ, son of the late George E. and Helen (Melnyk) Snook, Sr., he resided in Manville all of his life.

George faithfully served his country with the United States Army as a specialist 5 during the Vietnam War. He was a member of VFW Post #2290 in Manville. George retired as a supervisor and teacher from Watchung Hills Regional High School after thirty-nine years of dedicated service; an adjunct professor at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg, NJ for eighteen years; and was member of the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association. He was a member of the support staff at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home in Manville for twenty-eight years. George loved the outdoors and traveling all around the world. He enjoyed mountain biking, mountain climbing, and skiing and was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club and Central Jersey's Biking Association. He biked the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, Canada and along the coasts of Oregon and Ireland. He ran and completed the New York Marathon. George loved performing arts theatre and was a member with the Roundabout Theatre, Atlantic Theatre, and McCarter Theatre. He was a communicant of Christ the Redeemer Parish (Christ the King Roman Catholic Church) in Manville.

Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his sister, Georgianna Wilk.

George is survived by two loving children, George E. Snook, III and his wife Keri of Marblehead, MA and Lesley Anne and her husband Garrett Ferris of Westfield, NJ. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Gregory Snook and his wife Judy of Neshanic Station, NJ; and four cherished grandchildren, Ethan and Gavin Snook and Margaret and Katie Ferris.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, N.J. 08835 on Monday, March 28 from 3-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 29 from 8-8:30 a.m. A eulogy by George's son, George E. Snook III, will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday night during the viewing.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Christ the King Roman Catholic Church) in Manville. Committal words and entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Mausoleum in Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George's name to the charity of your choice.
