Hillsborough, NJ- George "Mickey" Michael Solomon, 50, died on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at his residence in Hillsborough. Born in Somerville, NJ, son of George "Peppy" and the late Margaret (Grober) Solomon, he lived in Manville all of his life having moved to Hillsborough 6 months ago.
Mickey played Pop Warner Football and Little League in Manville and attended Manville High School where he also played football and he had received the MVP award during his freshman season. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed golfing and was a true sports enthusiast. Mickey was employed as a tube roller for 2 years at Johns Manville, Inc. in Manville and was foreman for 19 years at Somerville Lumber in Bridgewater.
Besides his loving father, Mickey is survived by his dear sisters: Terri Solomon of Manville and Bonnie & her husband Frank Slater of ME. He will be deeply missed by his cherished niece Jennifer Solomon of Manville and her significant other Michael Migliore of Manville; his dear Aunt Lorraine Scarola of South Plainfield and his special friend, the family dog "Cocoa."
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Wednesday, October 27th from 6-9 p.m. At the family's request the disposition will be private.
