Easton, PA-Gertrude D. (Vliet) Lukacs, 84, entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Easton Hospital in Easton, PA. Born in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Clifford and Agnes (McGrath) Vliet, she lived in South Plainfield, NJ before spending most of her life in Manville, NJ and then she settled to Easton in 2001.
Gertrude worked for eighteen years at Ethicon in Bridgewater, NJ as an assembly worker and before that she was an operator at NJ Bell Telephone. She was member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ; and also worked at their bingo. She was a member of the Red Hats Social Club in Easton. Gertrude loved to travel with her husband. She loved spending time with family, especially with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Besides her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by her daughter, Kimmerley Zazenskowski.
Gertrude is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ernest Lukacs to whom she was married for sixty years; a loving son, Ernest Lukacs and his wife Theresa of Manville; and dear son-in-law, Steven Zazenskowski and his wife Carol. She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren, Christina Zazenskowski, Steven Zazenskowski, Jr., Ernie Lukacs, Jr., and Kathrine Ingram-Hegenbart and her husband Rycker; and an adored great granddaughter, Gabriella Barr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, September 12 from 5-8 p.m. with a Parastas service beginning at 6:00 p.m. officiated by Fr. James Badeaux and on Tuesday, September 13 from 9-9:45 a.m. A Panachida service will start at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home followed by the funeral service at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
