Gregory Snook Sr., 73 of Branchburg passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026.  He was born in Somerville, to George and Helen (Melnyk) Snook where he grew up in Manville.  He married Judith Ann (Rosacha) Snook on October 20, 1973.  They had two children, Gregory Snook Jr. of Emmaus, Pennsylvania and Shannon Marie Snook of Branchburg.  He is predeceased by his parents and brother George and sister Georganna.  He was a beloved husband, father, grand-father, brother, uncle, colleague and friend.  Gregory leaves behind a legacy of adventure, humor, sarcasm, adventure and service.

Gregory was first and foremost a devoted and proud husband and father.  Family gatherings were brighter with his presence.  He leaves behind life long friends from across decades and workplaces including mechanics, NJSP, trucking and the Somerset County Bridge Department. He was a volunteer member, life member and served as Chief of the Somerset County Hazardous Materials Response Team for over thirty years.  Gregory dedicated his expertise along with his never-ending humor 365 days a year.  He will be remembered for his unique gift of gab and witty remarks.  Gregory was a lifelong man of service from little league baseball, Somerset County 4-H, Rotary and food banks.  He was a born storyteller with a sharp wit with the ability to turn small moments into unforgettable anecdotes.  Those close to him appreciated his balance of stubborn habits along with his unwavering and relentless support.  Gregory retired in summer of 2024 and enjoyed many vacations and cruises alongside his amazing wife.  He loved being a grandfather and cherished his time spent restoring his Chevelle with his son.  Shannon and her father were two peas in a pod and enjoyed doing what some may refer to as insane, together.

A memorial funeral mass will take place at Mary, Mother of God Roman Catholic Church, located at 157 South Triangle Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844 on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to St. Jude's Cancer Research Foundation.  Their commercials always brought him to tears.
