Obituary

Manville, NJ – Harold William "Harry" Hutchinson, III, 78, entered into eternal life on Friday, January 24, 2025 at home with a loving family by his side. Born in Trenton, NJ, son of the late Harold William "Bill" and Jeannie Amy (née Tamminen) Hutchinson, he grew up in Ewing Township, NJ, but resided in Montclair, NJ for most of his life until recently moving in with his son in Manville.

Harry was a life-long learner who turned his love of the English language into both a career and a creative calling. While earning his bachelor's degree at Montclair State University, he met Nancy, his beloved wife of 42 years. In addition to many years of dedicated employment as executive editor at ASME in New York, NY, he authored poetry and fiction that combined his love of history, folklore, and literature. His boundless curiosity also manifested in an enthusiasm for travel, so much that he sold his home after retirement to pursue globe-trotting with his long-time companion, Joanna Eng. He was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Montclair for over 50 years.

Beside his parents, Harold was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy (née Grant) Hutchinson.

Harry will be deeply missed and is survived by his loving children, Kathryn Hutchinson and her longtime partner, Brian of Jersey City, NJ and Matthew Hutchinson and his wife, Alysia of Manville; two sisters, Jamy Haller and Cindy Kocon; five cherished grandchildren, Hailey, Ryan, Andrew, Liam, and Cillian; and adored great grandson, DJ.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835.
