Harriet Anna Haraputczyk died Friday, October 11, 2013 at Green Knoll Center in Bridgewater. She was 79. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothea Heinen. She resided in Manville for most of her adult life before moving to Blakeslee, PA in 1981. She returned to New Jersey in 2000.
Harriet was a nurse for 28 years both in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. During the time she lived in Pennsylvania, she was an active member of Effort United Methodist Church and especially loved her home in the Poconos that she shared with her beloved Cocker Spaniels, Jude and Penny. After returning to New Jersey, she was an active member of Bridgewater United Methodist Church. She resided at Centerbridge II in Bridgewater where she enjoyed playing Rummikub and planning parties with the many close friends she made there. Harriet loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was loved by all for her huge laugh and warm heart.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul Haraputczyk; her sister, Marilou Allen, and her brother, Richard Heinen. Surviving are her sister, Dorothea Beirn of Piscataway, NJ; two daughters, Kathy and her husband Tony Pawlik of Robbinsville, NJ, and Barbara and her husband Bob Smith of Hillsborough, NJ; two sons, Paul of Hellertown, PA, and Jon of Phillipsburg, NJ; 10 grandchildren, Geri Lee, Jason, Tara, Jessica, Melissa, Tony, Steve, Paul, Carly and David; and 8 great grandchildren, Sammie, Blake, Alycia, Jakob, Rachel, Zoey, Ava and Alyssa.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at the Bridgewater United Methodist Church, 651 Country Club Road, Bridgewater, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Bridgewater United Methodist Church.
