Helen K. (Kruzel) Brygier, 90, entered into eternal life on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born in Jersey City, daughter of the late John and Marie Kruzel, she settled to Manville in 1948.
Helen was a registered nurse having attended the former Presbyterian Hospital Nursing School in Newark. In 2010, she retired from Somerset Pediatric Group in Somerville after 60 years of dedicated employment and had briefly worked at Somerset Medical Center many years ago. She was a faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, a former member of the Democratic Club and the Summer Nights Cruising Classic Club all of Manville. Family was of utmost importance to Helen and she cherished every moment spent with them. She enjoyed collecting bells and was also an avid reader.
Besides her biological parents, Helen was predeceased by her dear step-mother Magdalena (Kasluga) Kruzel who had lovingly raised her; brother Anthony William Kruzel, Sr. and sister Marion Riley.
Helen leaves behind her beloved husband of 61 years Edward T. Brygier with whom she joined hands in marriage on June 18, 1949; loving son and daughter-in-law, Edward J. and Irene Brygier of Manville; two dear sisters, Emilie Frait of Illinois and Genny Kruzel of Virginia. She will be deeply missed by her two adored grandchildren Deanna Noble and Edward J. Brygier, Jr. and by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, May 9 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 10 from 8-8:30 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Helen will be laid to rest in the family plot at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
