Manville, NJ- Henryk Florek, 81, entered into eternal life on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset in Somerville, NJ, with loving family present. Born in Slopnice, Poland, son of the late Ludwig and Maria (nee Gron) Florek, he immigrated to the United States in 1978 and settled in Manville, where he has been ever since.

While living in Poland, Henryk honorably served with the Polish military. Henryk was a hard worker, beginning his working years in several different fields and working in several different manufacturing factories in the Manville area. Prior to retirement he was employed by the Manville Board of Education as a custodian. Henryk enjoyed fishing, doing crossword puzzles, and keeping up on current events.  He was an avid gardener who planted tomatoes and cucumbers. He pickled most of the cucumbers, so family and friends could enjoy them during the winter months. He was most passionate for time spent with family especially with his grandchildren.

Beside his parents, Henryk was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janina (nee Jugo) Florek who died on February 17, 2007; son, Michael J. Florek who died on October 20, 2016; brother, Stanislaw Florek, and sister, Emilia Maciejkowicz.

Henryk is survived and will be deeply missed by two loving children, Barbara and her husband, Fazal Khan of Piscataway, NJ and Tomasz Florek and his wife Diane of Bayville, NJ; dear siblings, Maria Krawczyk and Jozef Florek; cherished grandchildren, Ashley Khan, Nadya Khan, Christian Florek, Patrick Florek, and Alyssandra Florek; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, October 25, from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday, October 26, from 8-8:30 a.m. with transfer prayers beginning 8:30 a.m.at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral mass at Christ the Redeemer Parish in Manville. Burial of Henryk's cremated remains will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Millstone River Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844 on Monday, October 28, at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. Mariusz Florek officiating.
