Manville, NJ – Jan Libovic, 68, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Born in Zbudza, Slovakia to his late parents Jan Libovic and Apolonia (Lazarova) Libovicova, Jan lived most of his life in Slovakia until moving to the United States seven years ago.

For almost forty years, Jan was employed at Pivovar in Slovakia as a Beer Brewer. While living in Manville, he worked in the stockroom at Wal-Mart. A devout catholic, Jan was very involved in choirs and plays in Slovakia, but most recently, he attended services at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville. In his spare time, Jan loved folk dancing, singing, joking with his friends and colleagues and hiking in the woods.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Michal Libovic.

Jan leaves behind his devoted wife of forty-five years Magdalena (Ferkova) Libovicova and their loving children; son Jan Libovic and his wife Slavka of Slovakia and Slavka "Sally" Tarzian and her husband Richard of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Belmar, NJ. He will be missed by his dear brother Josef Libovic and his four cherished grandchildren; Lukas, Victoria, Ava and Jake.

Visitation will be held at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Committal words will be held in the chapel of Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.

Since religion and the catholic faith was an utmost importance to Jan and his family, they have requested that memorial contributions be sent directly to the family, c/o Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home. At the conclusion of the funeral services for Jan, the family will then disperse the donations to local churches here in the United States and Slovakia.
