Manville, NJ- Jean Louise (Barney) Jones, 88, entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at a Nursing Facility in Bridgewater, NJ. Born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA, daughter of the late Delbert and Margaret (Taylor) Barney, she married Richard John Jones and moved to Manville in the late 1950's.
Jean was a Christian who had a strong faith in God. She was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her two daughters whom she loved unconditionally. Jean loved spending time over the years with her very large family having BBQ's and parties, she was very patriotic and loved the USA flag. In her spare time she would knit and watch her SyFy channel. In her earlier years she spent time in her garden.
Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her siblings, Arthur Barney, Bob Barney, Jimmy Barney, Helen LaBar, and Peggy Doran; and also by older siblings of the Dehaut family.
Jean is survived and will be deeply missed by two loving daughters, Donna and her husband Richard Cheslock of Manville and Barbara Puebla and her partner, Scott Porchik of Manville. Jean has four cherished grandchildren, Paul Puebla IV, Jeremiah Puebla, Jacob Puebla, and Angela Solomon and husband Ian ; three adored great children, Elizabeth Puebla, Xaden Puebla, and Mordechai Solomon also many nieces and nephews whom she adored but especially her niece's Lisa and husband Charles Murphy and Linda Lou Witek.
Relatives and friends will be invited to attend a memorial service at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Saturday, February 1st from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Her cremated remains will be buried with her mom at New Cemetery in Somerville, NJ in the near future. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jean's name to an animal shelter of your choice.
