Manchester, NJ- Jennie T. (nee Manna) Leone, 101, entered into eternal life on Friday, October 11, 2024 at home with loving family by her side.
Born in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (nee Perozzi) Manna, she lived there until the age of ten. Her family then moved to Manville,NJ where she became a longtime resident.
Jennie was a graduate of Bound Brook High School with the Class of 1942. She worked at Dukes Estate in Hillsborough, NJ, as a guide and during World War II she worked for the United States Navy in Manville. She later worked as a distribution agent for Ethicon in Bridgewater, NJ for about 18 years, before retirement. Jennie was quite active throughout her life; she was involved with the Cub Scouts and Knights of Columbus. She enjoyed helping others, training dogs for the blind. She was a parishioner of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville; and helped set up, organize, and play bingo at the church. She has been a resident of Manchester for the last 24 years. Jennie's greatest passion in life was for her family. She enjoyed traveling domestically and abroad with her husband.
Besides her parents, Jennie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Angelo V. Leone and five siblings: Frances (Nicholas) Sfiscko, Joseph (Martha) Manna, Flora (Frank) Minarchek, Anthony (Ann) Manna and Giovanni Manna.
Jennie leaves to mourn her loving sons, Edward (Alice) Leone and Joseph (Kathleen) Leone; four cherished grandchildren, Michael Leone, Jennifer Leone, Matthew (Laura) Leone, and Melissa (Jordan) Toles; three adored great grandchildren, Gabriella, Cameron and Carter Toles; and many dear nieces and nephews
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Thursday, October 17, from 5-7 p.m. and on Friday, October 18, from 8-8:30 a.m. with transfer prayers beginning at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral mass at Christ the Redeemer Parish in Manville. Committal words and interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
