Bridgewater, NJ- John "Jack" E. Russell, 82, passed away on March 20, 2020 with his loving daughter by his side. Jack was born in Youngstown, Ohio, son of the late John and Elsie (Klooz) Russell.

Jack graduated from Youngstown State University with an Engineering Degree followed by Stanford University earning an MBA. He then worked for General Extrusions, followed by Kaiser Aluminum and ABB Trading. After the death of his wife, Mary Ellen Hull of 25 years in 1990, he went on to be a consultant for Schilberg Integrated Metals located in Connecticut.

During his metal trading years he was afforded many opportunities to travel extensively, which included every continent except Antarctica. A passion he continued in his later years with his brother Edward Russell, taking adventurous trips annually; these included a month in the outback of Australia, a Road trip to Alaska and even a white water rafting trip down the Colorado River.

Before he was a NJ resident he resided with his late wife in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. His 47 years in Bridgewater where spent pursuing his passion for gardening, producing a constant stream of vegetables for his neighbors, friends and fellow church members. He was very active in the Bridgewater United Methodist Church for the last 25 years including sitting on the Board of Trustees.

His other hobbies included Skiing, planning trips with his nieces and nephews for many winters, bike riding long distances along the countryside of New Jersey on the canal path of Pennsylvania, and, a true beer aficionado, visiting breweries and brew pubs across the country even before it was trendy.

Jack is survived by his brother Edward Russell and his wife Mary Ann Russell of Northville Michigan, and his daughter Cassandra Russell of Manville, New Jersey. There are also many nieces and nephews on his wife's side who benefited greatly by his generosity, compassion, and sense of adventure.

At the family's request, disposition will be private.
