Lakewood, NJ – John G. Huefner, 77, entered into eternal life on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Born in Irvington, NJ, he was the son of Fredrick and Sophie (Nee Kurchien) Huefner. He was raised in the Irvington area and lived in Manville, NJ before moving to Lakewood.
John proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corps during the Bay of Pigs Conflict.
John was a plumber at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and St Peters Hospital both located in New Brunswick, NJ. He loved spending time fishing and hunting.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Maureen B. Huefner in 1985 and his aunt, Emma Ingalls.
John is survived by his dear children, son, John E. Huefner of Manville and Donna A. Tenisci and husband Michael also of Manville. He will be deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren, Vincent and Melissa Tenisci. John will also be missed by his significant other, Jane Boresen and her loving family to whom he was known as Grandpa John.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, June 26 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, June 27 from 9-10 a.m. Please note due to executive orders set by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy the funeral home is only allowed to have 50 people in the building at one time. You must come with your own face covering and maintain 6 feet social distancing. When attending the viewing, please be patient as there may be a wait time in entering the funeral home.
Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. with Fr. Anthony Lipari officiating. Committal words and interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in John's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
