South Bound Brook, NJ – John Michael Mitchell, 68, entered into eternal life on Friday, January 24, 2020 at home with loving family by his side. Born in Meriden, CT, son of the late Michael and Maria Mitchell, John spent most of his younger years in Meriden prior to residing in Somerset, NJ and Manhattan, NY. He most recently called South Bound Brook home.

John was a consultant for NSF of Bristol, CT prior to retirement. John was a member of the Society of Toxicology. He enjoyed watching many television shows and series.

John is survived by his devoted wife of twelve years, Luz Maria (neeVargas) Vargas Mitchell. He will be deeply missed by three loving children, Franchesca Mitchell, Mariangelis Mitchell, and Michael Mitchell; and a dear sister, Angela Mitchell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Tuesday, January 28 from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 29 from 7:30-8:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 29 followed by committal words and interment at Cemetery in Wallingford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name directly to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
