Manville, NJ – John W. Nagy, Jr., 87, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manville, son of the late John and Yolanda (Nemeth) Nagy, he was a lifelong resident of Manville.
John was a graduate of Bound Brook High School and had attended Rutgers University. He was honorably discharged as a private from the United States Army Air Force having faithfully served his country during World War II. John retired as a machinist with Manville PDQ. His prior employment included Deihl in Finderne, insurance agent, and construction work. He was a member of the American Legion Post #304, Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post #2290 and an Exempt Fireman with Fire Company #2 each located within the borough of Manville. In his spare time, John enjoyed bowling and had a passion for gardening always sharing the fruits of his labor with those he loved.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his son, David Nagy and brother, Joe Nagy.
John leaves behind his beloved wife, Rose (Warzybuk) Nagy; loving children, Christine Hill of Barnegat and John Michael Nagy of Atlanta, GA; dear siblings, Margaret Savarese of FL and David Nagy of FL. He will be deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren, Shannon Nagy, Sean Hill, and Lauren Hill.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, August 16 from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday, August 17 from 9-10 a.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 17 beginning at 10 a.m. At the family's request disposition will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to Manville Fire Company #2, South 13th Avenue & Washington Avenue, Manville, NJ 08835.
