Hillsborough, NJ- John S. Zoltek, 92, entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Hillsborough. Born in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Stanley and Agnes (Chmiel) Zoltek, John had resided in Hackensack, Pompton Lakes and Wyckoff before settling to Hillsborough in 1964.



John was honorably discharged as a chief radioman from the United States Navy after faithfully serving his country during WWII. He was trained in military intelligence where he assisted in the sinking of enemy ships in the South Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Brazil. He served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres and belonged to the United States Naval Cryptologic Association. He received his Bachelor Degree in Industrial Arts from Trenton State College in 1976. John was an electrical engineer for Diehl Manufacturing located in Finderne and was a member of their bowling team. John worked part-time for over fifteen years at Somerset County VoTech as an instructor. He was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Since the age of sixteen John had a passion for Ham Radio. His most famous handle was W2VLS.

Besides his parents, John is predeceased by his son Stephen Zoltek who died in 1957 and by all of his siblings; Genevieve, Emilia, Bertha and Aloysius.



John leaves behind his beloved wife of sixty-nine years, Lucille A. (Tlumac) Zoltek with whom he joined hands in marriage on December 26, 1942; his loving children, John, Thomas, Kenneth, Marylu, Anne, and Catherine along with their families. He will be deeply missed by twenty-four adored grandchildren, seven loving great-grandchildren, and two precious great-great grandchildren; and by many caring nieces and nephews.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, September 3 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 4 from 8:15-8:45 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4 beginning 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Annandale. Committal words and entombment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery and Mausoleum in Annandale.
