Waretown, NJ- Joseph J. Papiez, 66, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ with his loving family by his side. Born and raised in Trenton to the late Stanley and Helen (Jankiewicz) Papiez, he lived in the Manville/Belle Mead area most of his life until settling to Waretown in 2003.
Joe retired from 3M Corporation in Belle Mead as a heavy equipment operator after 35 dedicated years of employment. He was an avid hunter and fisherman spending much of his time outdoors and was a member of the Manville Rod and Gun Club for over 20 years. He loved his family and took great pride in watching his son Matthew race stock cars and his beloved granddaughter ride horses.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by three dear brothers; Stanley Jr., Charles and Andrew.
Joe leaves behind his caring and devoted wife Barbara (Teska) Papiez; loving sons Joseph Jr. and wife Jackie and Matthew Papiez, all of Belle Mead. He will be deeply missed by his siblings; Robert Papiez, Dorothy Bernardo and Patricia Baker. He also leaves behind "the love of his life and sunshine of his heart", granddaughter Alyssa Papiez and will be missed by cherished step-grandson, Brian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Wednesday, July 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, July 17 from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 17, beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 am funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish, (Sacred Heart Church in Manville), and committal words and interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough. A memorial service honoring Joe's life will be held in Waretown at a later date to be determined.
