Manville, NJ - Joseph Vervan, Sr., 90, entered eternal life on Monday, March 6, 2023 peacefully at his home.  Born in Madisonville, PA, son of the late Charles and Mary (Wanda) Vervan; he moved to Jessup, PA before settling in Manville and calling it home.

Joseph proudly served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 as a Corporal during the Korean War.  He was a dedicated family man. Joseph was a former member of the MYAL (Manville Youth Athletic League), American Legion, Manville Elks, Manville Rescue Squad and also a lifelong member of the VFW, Thomas J. Kavanaugh Post #2290.  Joseph was employed at Johns-Manville Corporation, Foodtown of Manville as Manager, Zinsser Corporation in Somerset and On the Green Landscaping with his son, Joe.  Joseph was a parishioner of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Hillsborough, a member of its Holy Name Society and an Usher at the 4PM mass.

Joseph was a great chef who enjoyed cooking for others.  He was a natural accordion and harmonica player, loved to polka dance and enjoyed softball, bowling and beating everyone at horseshoes.

Beside his parents, Joseph was predeceased in death by ten of his beloved siblings.

Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 68 years, Norma T. (Picchini) Vervan; his loving children; son, Joseph Vervan, Jr. and his fiancé Mary; daughters, Kathleen Vervan Bugglin and her husband Stephen and Mary Vervan; two grandchildren, Courtney (Ball) Grace and Frank Harvey and three great-grandchildren.  He will also be missed by his two older brothers, Andrew Vervan and William Vervan along with many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 10-12 noon.  Military honors will pay tribute at 11:45 a.m. followed by a Parastas service at 12 noon.  In lieu of flowers, the family humbly asks for financial support for the continued care of Joseph's beloved wife Norma.
