Josephine T. Iskra, 86, a former resident of Manville, New Jersey died peacefully on December 3, 2010 at Swedish Medical Center, Englewood , Colorado.
She was born on March 16, 1924, and resided in Manville for 48 years before relocating to Littleton, Colorado in 1972.
Josephine attended Bound Brook schools, and was employed by Diehl's and Ethicon when she resided in New Jersey. She retired from Citigroup/Diners Club International, Englewood, Colorado.
Josephine led a wonderful life and was a woman of grace and great strength. She was blessed with many talents; an artist, a creative cook who especially enjoyed Polish food, an accomplished seamstress, an exceptional gardener favoring gardenias and roses. In her early years she grew award-winning dahlias. She also had the gift of playing the piano by ear.
Josephine loved and enjoyed traveling, be it impromptu road trips to National Parks, or planned international trips to tropical islands. As a woman who loved to dance, she was delightful to watch when waltzing or doing the Polka in her husband's arms. A dedicated and loving Mother, she lived to see her children and grandchildren grown, and frequently engaged her family with stories of growing up in the 30's, 40's and 50's.
Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Edward A. Iskra, in 2006. She was the mother of Mona Wilczek, of Littleton, Colorado; Michael J. Iskra and his wife Ann, of Bridgewater, New Jersey and Patty Hermann and her husband Mark, of Tucson, Arizona. She was the grandmother of Ken Wilczek, of Castle Pines Village, Colorado, Michele Iskra of Wilmington, Delaware and Jennifer Iskra of Bel Air, Maryland.
