Manville, NJ—Julia "Jay" Galida entered eternal life on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Rehab at River's Edge in Raritan, NJ. Jay was born in St Clair, PA. Married John Galida in 1948, moved to Manville, NJ and was widowed at age 32, raising 3 small children.
Her strong faith always carried her throughout her life and she was a long standing member of Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Manville. She worked at Bridgewater Raritan High School
in the cafeteria for over 25 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 304 & served as treasurer. During her life Jay traveled to Australia & Russia. She was a loyal friend and was rewarded with many wonderful friends in her lifetime.
She is survived by her three children, Michael & Paula Galida of Ortley Beach, Jack & Gail Galida of Piscataway and Marie Moody of North Andover, MA. She leaves six grandchildren, Wendy, Rachael, Jonathan & Jacqueline Galida and Tommy & Matthew Moody.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Monday, December 29 from 6-9 p.m. with the Panakhida service beginning at 8 p.m. Additional visitation will be on Tuesday, December 30 from 830 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 30 beginning 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral service at Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, 605 Washington Avenue, Manville, NJ 08835 with Father James officiating. Committal words and interment will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Cemetery in Hillsborough.
