Obituary

June Elaine (née Lawson) Chalfin, aged 83, peacefully passed into eternal life on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Bridgeway Rehabilitation and Care Center in Hillsborough, New Jersey, leaving behind a family who loved her dearly.

Born in Somerville, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Thurman and Mary (née Groff) Lawson. She spent her childhood in Hillsborough, later living in Bridgewater, New Jersey for 42 years before returning to Hillsborough.

June completed her education at Somerville High School, graduating with the Class of 1960. She worked as a dedicated and caring LPN at the Lyons VA Medical Center in Lyons, New Jersey, for 21 years.

June had a fondness for pressing flowers, creating floral arrangements, and crafting wreaths. As a person with a talent for arts and crafts, she expressed her creativity uniquely. Raised in the Protestant faith, she consistently served as a symbol of hope, and her beliefs held significant importance in her life.

In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her son, Scott R. Chalfin; two sisters, Louise Linico and Mary Ann Saylor; her ex-husband, Kenneth R. Chalfin; her cherished boxer, "Luke" and feline friend, "Boo-Boo."

June is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Gonzalez; son-in-law Michael Mullins; two treasured grandchildren, Crystal Gonzalez and Jordyn Gonzalez; several dear nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.
