Manville, NJ – Justin P. Rivera, 47, entered into eternal life on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset in Somerville, NJ, with loving family by his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY, son of Anna Margaret (nee Brennan) Rivera and the late Justino A. Rivera, he had resided in the Douglaston community in the New York City borough of Queens, NY, prior to residing in Branchburg, NJ in 1985. In the year 2000, Justin called Hillsborough, NJ home and in the year 2005 he settled in Manville.
Justin had a smile that could light up the room. In his youth he was a lover of the Chevy automobile yet later in life he ended up driving Ford's; he could always be found in his parent's driveway or garage working on classic Chevy's. Justin was a graduate of Immaculata High School in Somerville, Class of 1989. He then attended classes at Raritan Valley Community College in North Branch, NJ. Justin was owner and operator of Plan B Transport of Manville. He was a member of Tow 411. Some of Justin's passions included but are not limited to 4-wheeling with friends, taking long fast rides on his motorcycle with friends, going to the shooting range, working on his work trucks, and more recently listening to country music especially his first man bro, Eric Church. For the past fifteen years, he was a member of the Finderne First Aid and Rescue Squad in Bridgewater, NJ; he was a former sergeant of the Finderne First Aid and Rescue Squad as well as a past vice president for over ten years. He was captain of the EMS Angels of Central New Jersey.
Besides his father, Justin is predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Reg; his great nanny; and his canine friend, "Buzz".
Justin is survived by, his loving and devoted wife of thirteen years, Michelle Lynn (nee Fields) Rivera with whom he joined hands in marriage on September 10, 2005; three dear siblings, Steve Rivera of Hillsborough, Jon Rivera of Hillsborough, and Jessica and her husband Wayne Bonner of Pinebush, NY; dear sister-in-law, Cindy Fields; cherished nephew, Matthew Bonner; and his feline friends, "CoCo" and "Mama".
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Thursday, January 3 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, January 4 from 10-10:45 a.m.
Funeral services will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, January 4 at the funeral home followed by an 11:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville. Committal words and disposition will follow in the chapel at Somerset Hills Memorial Park & Mausoleum in Basking Ridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Justin's name to www.GoFundMe.com/justinandmichelle .
