Hillsborough, NJ- Kathleen (Dougherty) Michitsch, 66, entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Daniel Joseph and Hazel (Essenson) Dougherty, she resided in Hazlet, NJ, the Poconos, and Upstate New York before settling in Hillsborough Somerville in 2010.

Kathleen had worked many years for Emeritus in Hillsborough as a CNA. She loved gardening, plants, music, and animals especially her dog Bruce. She was a free spirited person who was very loving and caring. You would always find her in her Dallas Cowboys gear rooting for them on any given Sunday.

Besides her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by a niece, Jean Marie Poynton and a brother-in-law, John Poynton.

Kathleen is survived by five loving children, Steven Michitsch, Jennifer Michitsch, Michael Michitsch, Denise Michitsch Karlan and Danyelle Michitsch; two dear sisters, Maureen Poynton and Dorothy Zelnick; seven cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla, Sarah, Hayley, Dylan, Anthony, and Jordyn; ex-husband, John Michitsch; and a dear nephew, Richie Zelnick.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835. Kathleen's disposition was private. Memorial contributions may be made in Kathleen's name to a local animal shelter of your choice.
