Obituary

Hillsborough, NJ- Lucille A. (Tlumac) Zoltek, 96, entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at The Avalon at Hillsborough assisted living facility, where she lived for the past five years.  Born in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of the late John Andrew and Anna Marie (Yanoscak) Tlumac.  She moved to New Jersey in 1927, residing in Little Ferry, Hackensack, Pompton Lakes, Wyckoff, and Hillsborough since 1964.

After graduating third in the class of 1937 at St. Cecilia's High School, Englewood, Lucille attended secretarial school in New York City.  Upon graduation she was employed by Sinclair Oil Co. then by WOR Radio with John Gambling.  In 1939, she moved to Washington, DC to work for the U.S. Department of Labor.  At a USO dance in April, 1942, she met a handsome Navy Chief Petty Officer, John Zoltek, and married him eight months later.  Her career was interrupted for 20 years to raise her children, starting up again in 1968.  Lucille retired at age 70 from AT&T where she spent twenty years as an information system administrator.  In 1985, she realized a lifelong ambition when she very proudly earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Thomas Edison College, Trenton, NJ.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was predeceased by a son, Stephen Zoltek in 1957; three brothers: George, John, and Albert; and on August 30, 2012 her devoted husband of sixty-nine years.

Lucille is survived by six children, John, Thomas, Kenneth, Mary, Anne, and Catherine and their families.  She will be deeply missed by twenty-four grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Sunday, January 15 from 2-6 p.m. and on Monday, January 16 from 8:45-9:15 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16 beginning 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral mass at St. Edward's Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill Street, Milford, NJ 08848.  Entombment will take place at Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale, NJ on Tuesday, January 17 at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Lucille's name to Embracing Hospice Care, 3349 Route 138, Suite F, Building D, Wall, NJ 07719 or www.embracinghospicecare.org .
